Just checking in as I’m concerned about our brother @thewizard1.  I haven't seen any posts from him in some time and no reply to a message.

Hopefully he is just busy with a project, vacationing, or immersed in the Olympics.

Charlie, if you see this, please let us know all is well.

On 1/14/2026 I shipped Wizard1 a HO scale brass Trains. Inc. B&O cattle car with Deutsche Post/DHL. As of today there's been not a word from "The Man" that the package has arrived. As of today, 2/13/2026, it hasn't been returned to me here in Germany, so I'm beginning to ask myself if there's a postman who is a model railroader that decided to add the car to his collection instead of making the delivery to Wizard1?

Item: A railfan buddy of mine mailed a Leanin' Tree Christmas card on 12/13/2025 from Texas which featured Rio Grande Southern #455 that didn't arrive here until the third week of January! Fantastic delivery service to say the least so I'm gonna wait another week or so before I contact DHL to see what the deal is.

Talked to him tonight.  He’s fine. Just taking a break and doing some audio stuff for a bit.

Joe,

each parcel you are shipping DHL will give you a tracking number. That are these little slips you get when checking out at a DHL shop. There the tracking number is listed.
This works even when the parcel has left Germany and also has entered the USA. May be your parcel is in US customs clearance process and they are searching for tariff codes. If this is the case you will find it in tracking record, also if the parcel has been delivered to the adressee.
I also hope you have made a EU customs declaration "Passive Veredlung im Nicht EU Ausland" before you have shipped the parcel. So you have to pay Einfuhrumsatzsteuer (in fact a VAT) only for the costs of work with has been done on your cattle car. Otherwise you have to pay the Einfuhrumsatzsteuer for the whole custom value of your car and the shipping costs.
This will apply not only for parcels from the USA into EU, but also worldwide from all states who are not EU members.
